EEF is the representative voice of manufacturing in the UK. It has a growing membership of almost 6,000 companies of all sizes, who employ some 900,000 people from every sector of engineering, manufacturing, engineering construction and technology-based industries.
The EEF South East region, with offices in Hook (Hampshire) Sandy (Bedfordshire) and Hadleigh (Suffolk) provides support for member companies by employing acknowledged experts in HR & employment law, health safety and environment, information and research and business improvement. The Federation of Small Businesses was founded in 1974 to represent the interests of the self employed and small business owners and managers. It is both a lobbying and service organization with press and parliamentary offices in Westminster, Brussels, Belfast, Cardiff and Glasgow. The FTA is a national trade association representing freight operators in all modes road, rail, air and sea freight, as well as providing business services in road transport. FTA represents the operators of around 40% of HGVs in the UK and works closely with Government Departments, regional bodies and local authorities to improve the operating environment for freight companies. RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is the mark of property professionalism worldwide. It covers all aspects of property, construction and associated environmental issues. RICS has 86,000 chartered members (FRICS and MRICS) and 55,000 members in other categories of membership (TechRICS, trainees and students) globally. It represents, regulates and promotes the work of these property professionals throughout 146 countries. RICS is governed by a Royal Charter approved by Parliament which requires it to act in the public interest. It is also a professional regulatory body approved by Government (HM Treasury).
There are 7,800 RICS members in the East of England.
